Oatmeal Agar Jelly like “Tofu”

This is like tofu, made by hardening oatmeal with agar.

Both oatmeal and agar are rich in dietary fiber whicn helps maintain bowel health and improve immune function.

In addition, the protein in oats has a good amino acid
balance.

Garnish with vegetables and soy sacuce, or anything.

Tofu made by hardening oatmeal with agar

Ingredients   (2-3 Serves)

3 tablespoon rolled oats
1 teaspoon agar-agar powder (kanten)
350ml water

 

Instructions

  1. Put the oats in a saucepan, pour in 50ml water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 4-5 minutes, stirring from time to time. Set aside.
  2. Or mix the oats and water in a microwaveproof bowl, then microwave on High for 2 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  3. Stir together 300ml water and agar-agar powder in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, and keep stirring until all agar-agar powder have completely dissolved.
  4. Remove from heat. Add the oat, and stir.
  5. Pour into mold, and place in the fridge.
  6. Stirring halfway through before setting the agar-agar jelly completely.

Carrot or Spinach Oatmeal Tofu with agar

Try to add carrot or spinach to Oatmeal tofu.

Ingredients   (2-3 Serves)

2 tablespoon grated carrot or creamy spinach
1 teaspoon tahini (sesame paste)
1 teaspoon agar-agar powder (kanten)
350ml water
